Courses of Professional English
These special coursed are mostly attended by doctoral and univerisity students and scientific workers from various institutes. Their special needs influnce the topics incorporated in the course as well as language tools taught.
The ground of the work and study is general scientific vocabulary and academic communication skills: reading specialised texts, writing research reports, communicating at scientific conferences and working meetings.
At the moment, there are courses for two levels according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages: B2 for 2 semesters, and B1 for 3 semesters.
There are no official textbooks and the courses use sets of materials supplied by the instructor. The students are reqired to keep the record of all the materials and create their own individually arranged, supplemented and embellished "textbooks".
